I wanted to create a place where you could come and see all of the different learning resources that I have been sending you. I hope this makes it easier so you do not have to go through emails to find what you are looking for.

Here are the following resources that I have shared with you:
- Sight Word Practice: It is imperative that students practice and learn their sight words. Click here to access the sight words that students should know for next year. If you are looking for hands on ways to study sight words, click HERE.

- Imagine Learning: through playing games and completing lessons, students improve skills across content areas.
- IXL: math and language arts practice
- Raz-kids: books at your child's level that can be listened to, read, and is complete with comprehension questions.
If you have any problems signing into classlink, please reach out to me. These are fantastic resources that your child can use. I recommend setting a timer for 15 minutes each day for each program.
- Journal Writing:
Writing is a very important part of the kindergarten day! Unbelievably, most of our children have been writing 1-3 sentences with details each day! During our time at home, I would like your child to try to journal daily. They can use a notebook or simply just staple some paper together! They should write 1-3 sentences about their day. These are the things to remember when writing with your child…
- Remind them of “The Big 3.”
- They can use any of our sentence starters. Click the following link: Sentence Starters.
- They can use their “Sentence Maker”. The sentence maker helps them add details such as color, size, and setting.
- They should write neat and with a pencil.
- Illustrate their picture. Remember, we love outlining with marker and coloring with crayon!
- Do not worry if they spell words wrong. They can use resources from home, their sight word list, and sentence starters to help them, but it is OK to sound out unfamiliar words…even if it is not correct!
- This should not take more than about 15 minutes a day. If they want to work longer, GREAT! If you see them getting frustrated, STOP!

- School-Wide "Flat Principal" Project
- There
is a great story called "Flat Stanley", written by Jeff Brown. If you
can, listen to it on YouTube. In the story, a bulletin board fell on him as
he slept, and he became 1/2" thick! He wanted to go on a trip and since he
was flat, his family folded him up and mailed him in an envelope to
California. And the story continues…. here is a “Flat
Principal” that looks just like Mrs. Phelps. Take her with you to 3 different places (while you eat breakfast, do your school work, play outside,
etc.) and take a picture. They
can be selfies or pictures your parents take.
Feel free to be silly and have fun with this! Write down the 3 activities you did with your
“Flat Principal”.
In addition, be sure your parents send Mrs. Phelps pics to aphelps@rsps.us. It will be so much fun to see what activities you guys do with "Flat Principal" throughout the week! You can find "Flat Principal" to print, HERE.
Backward Boot Camp: Let's countdown to the last day of school. Activities done ONLY on weekdays. Start with Z and end with letter A. Share pictures in our google photos album (link below).

- Reading Comprehension Options: Click here.
- These are worksheets that you can read and answer comprehension questions. You have the option to print or just read for the screen. These are great for helping your child with fluency and reading comprehension.
- Participate in our Read At Home Bingo Game.
- Every time you complete an item, mark it! When you get Bingo, send a picture of your child with their Bingo Board! If your child totally completes their board, they will receive special mail from me!
- Get moving with GoNoodle!
- This website is full of fun movement activities, learning activities, and mindfulness activities! Create your free account and get moving, especially on rainy days!
- Time for Kids is sharing a free digital magazine until the end of the school year.
- Beetles: This week’s edition is all about bugs. "Beetles are insects. There are thousands of types. Let's learn about these cool critters."
- Trains: “All Aboard! Learn about how trains move people and goods from place to place.” There is a read aloud option and an option to print.
- All About Earth Day: "Earth Day takes place each year on April 22."
- Pizza: "How do you like pizza? It could depend on where you live."
- Let's Eat: "People in the United States enjoy many types of food."
- Learning From Home: "Many schools are closed due to the new coronavirus. See how five kids around the world keep up."
- Language Learning: "There are thousands of languages in the world. More people speak Mandarin than any other. Mandarin is a form of Chinese."
- Pulleys at Work: Learn about these simple machines.
- Let's Dance!: Discover a world of dance.
- Scholastic at Home is another fantastic resource that is free at this time. It has both books to explore and activities for students to do. Some of the daily activities move them away from screen time as well. Please check it out!
